Supervisors Role In General Motivation Assignment

I used to work with two supervisors who were complete opposites. One was a clear headed, reasonable but firm authoritative figure. The other would manipulate for personal gain, as it seemed to be a control issue. Both were in positions of authority yet the one used it for the development of others; while the other to gain control over others. It is amazing how some officers become what sometimes seem “jaded”, while others use that as motivation for improvement. Morals and values shift over time as a result of experiences and interactions. It must be difficult for officers who work long careers in metropolitan areas where crime and diversity are a constant. Have you had supervisors who motivate and innovate like this
