Sample of Your Skills in Communication

Submit a sample of your work from another course that you feel illustrates your communication skills. This could be the same item you attached for peer review during Module 03, or another written sample of your work from a course that you feel best demonstrates your abilities.

Communication is defined as the ability to write and express ideas in an organized, unified, coherent manner reflecting an appropriate awareness of your purpose and audience.

The purpose of the communication piece is to evaluate your mastery of this intellectual skill area in order to understand how you are incorporating the intellectual skill area of communication in your work.

Things to consider as you make your selection

When selecting your piece, consider the classes or class assignments where the need to have clear, effective communication was stressed. As you see from the list above, the types of work you may choose from include a paper, project (not a group project), business proposal, essay, or other work that shows your ability as an effective communicator.

As you evaluate possible selections, ask yourself:

What idea are you trying to communicate? Will this be clear to anyone reading the paper?
