Data Management Project: Logical Design(WEEK 3)

The Data Management Project for week 3 builds upon what you did for the Data Management Project in weeks 1 and 2 (ANSWERS YOU PROVIDED ARE ATTACHED). Create a logical data model of data management project showing the entities, relationships, primary keys, and foreign keys. Eliminate composite attributes, like student_name, by creating student_first_name and student_last_name. Create associative entities to resolve any many-to-many relationships between entities. Make sure each entity is in third normal form, meaning that each non-key attribute must depend on the primary key, the whole primary key, and only nothing but the primary key. Use the tool ( to create your logical model.

Export your data model as a PDF, as shown in the video tutorial. Submit the PDF .

Question 2.

the data model attached (employee saving fund) . For that data model , copy and paste that data model graphic into a MS Word document. (You can copy the data model graphic by right-clicking on it. On PCs, the keyboard combination of ctrl-V is the shortcut command for pasting.) In your MS Word document, 1) identify the entity or entities that represent a supertype and the entities that are subtypes, 2) specify which attributes the subtypes inherit from the supertype(s), 3) specify which attributes are unique to each subtype.
