ASSIGNMENT: For the conclusion of this course on Interpersonal Communication, I want you to look at yourself and another person you have a relationship with, that is experiencing some problem. This could involve a family member, friends, workers, etc. The purpose is to ultimately help you to reduce the problem. To help you organize the paper, consider following the format below:
Use a clear introduction, body, and conclusion format.
Describe the problem: Explain who’s involved, the situation, location, feelings, emotions that surround this communication problem.
Describe how it has been affecting you.
Describe what our textbook says about this issue. Use terminology from the text whenever possible.
Explain your decision. You do not have to solve the problem, but if the situation was resolved, explain the results. If the situation has not been resolved, discuss what steps you believe should be taken, to help resolve this communication problem.
You will not be graded on the results of the problem. Communication skills take a long time to develop. You will be graded on your honesty of the situation, your analysis of the problem and the mechanics of the paper.
5 points Mechanical errors. Typing errors, spelling errors, punctuation, margins
and neatness will be evaluated.
10 points Writing Style. Evidence of an introduction, body and conclusion.
30 points Utilization of terms/concepts from the textbook. Correct use of the terms
discussed in the text will be expected.
55 points Sincerity of Analysis. The paper should offer honest, sincere observations
of the communication situation. Overly positive or negative descriptions, or vague descriptions of events will be suspected as an insincere attempt
at this assignment.
